Static is a video series wherein I pair video documentation of transitional spaces with a desynchronized external audio recording. As I drive on the highway, I deliberately navigate the AM frequency within the sound recording. The landscape unfolds through the windshield, accompanied by radio static forming an uneven pattern. Suddenly, voices intervene, emerging from the radio and dividing the radio static, mirroring how the monotonous horizontal plains are interrupted by man-made structures along the road. The static camera angle remains fixed, devoid of any movement, contrasting with the dynamic radio static as I journey through the highway. Together, they create both disturbance and moments of tranquility.
