Cloth, Garden, and Behind were first exhibited from January 8th to 21st 2024 at Karaköy Tarihi Un Değirmeni Building in İstanbul. All the works were specifically produced for the Olimpos Sergileri III Enteriyör group show, curated by Taner Ceylan.
Cloth, captures the emotional essence of interior spaces by exploring obscured objects and the landscape-like forms within an empty house. This approach allowed me to uncover the hidden emotional layers of such spaces. Garden, led me to explore deserted places, focusing on abandoned industrial spaces now reclaimed by nature. These sites have transformed into small ecosystems, home to diverse life forms. The presence of plants and trees obscures the remnants of the interior spaces they inhabit.
The contrast between these two approaches inspired a third one, which examines the tension between interior and exterior spaces. With Behind, I concluded my project by creating a unique space using multi-layered frosted glass and photographs. These photos are partially obscured by frosted glass pieces, positioned 2 cm apart, adding a third dimension to the work. This approach does not reference any specific physical space but instead challenges the perception of depth, using photographic images to both reveal and obscure the interior spaces they depict.
