The second part of the Absence series focuses on spatial ambiguity and absence through the remains of landscape, architecture and surfaces. The impulse that creates the series makes many sequences possible by reconstructing disjointed fragments of spatial memory. The series contains the non-linear possibilities of reconfigurable photographic traces.

In this context, the present expands immeasurably between the hard-to-remember past and the future left as a draft. As in Marc Augé's third figure of oblivion, what is forgotten is both itself and what it is not yet. It has acquired the ongoing form of the present as a vision of the future.
